Description 
Dixon Fire Disaster 1883. Spectators standing in Jackson Street looking east at devastation. The fire started in the Centennial Hotel at B and Jackson Streets on a windy evening and burned the block of business between First St and A and B Streets in one hour. Buildings in background are on the east side of Main (First) Street. After the fire the City required all new buildings be built of masonry.
