Oscar C. Schulze was a prominent Dixon businessman. He was born in Lima, Peru on May 9th, 1858 to Oscar Alexander and Anna Schulze. His family moved to California about 1863. He attended Heald College in San Francisco and in 1876 worked for Eppinger & Co., then one of the great wheat buying firms in the State and was in charge of their Germantown interests in Glen County. He married Miss Caroline Todt in 1880 in Germantown and five children were born to them, with three surviving - Otto, Herbert and Olga. In 1891 Oscar took charge of the Eppinger store in Dixon and became owner in 1903. The store was renamed the Oscar C. Schulze General Mercandise Store and the building extended from the railroad station to First Street. He built the first Post Office building on the corner of B and First Street.
