The Dixon Unified School District Public Library is a special district library funded by the state under a separate appropriation going back to 1911.

Library oversight is performed in two levels:

Library Governing Board of Trustees Library Commission
The Governing Board of Trustees is comprised of the elected members of the Dixon Unified School District. These school board members are responsible for the budget allocation and overall function of the library, as well as having to approve of any real property acquisition.

This Board appoints members of a separate Library Commission to oversee the day-to-day operation and policy matters of the library.

For past Governing Board minutes, visit the Governing Board of Trustees page.

Library Commission members are appointed to a three-year term and operate under a set of bylaws.

The Commission meets, normally, on the third Monday of the month at 6:00 P.M in the Dixon School District Board Room, 180 S. First St. The Commission operates under a set of Bylaws adopted at their January 24, 2000 meeting.
