Library Policies - Library Cards
- Anyone 18 years of age or older, with proof of current address, may apply for a Dixon Library card. A parent or guardian’s signature along with proof of current address is required in order for a minor to be issued a Dixon Public Library Card.
- Borrowing privileges apply only to the person to whom the card is registered.
- Library privileges will be suspended until all outstanding debts are paid.
- In an attempt to circumvent the loss of library privileges, no one may use a card registered to another card holder or apply for another library card under an alias.
- The adult who signs for his or her own Dixon Public Library Card, or that of a minor’s, is responsible for any fines or fees that accrue against that card.
- If a library card is lost or stolen, it is the patron’s responsibility to report the loss as soon as possible since the registered cardholder is responsible for all fees accrued against the lost or stolen card.
